Sometimes support isn’t about doing more. It’s about creating the conditions that help you feel safe enough to let go.

The environment around a laboring person matters. I pay attention to the things that can help a space feel calmer, more private and more intentional: lighting, sound, movement, breathing, touch, partner connection and reducing unnecessary stimulation.

When desired and permitted, we can also incorporate soothing sensory tools such as music and aromatherapy. I use relaxation, visualization and breathing principles that are also commonly found in hypnobirthing.

Education is a big part of how I doula.

I’m Génesis — Birth Doula, Doula Instructor and Perinatal Educator. I bring more than five years of experience teaching adults into the way I prepare families for birth.

I don’t want you to simply receive information. I want you and your partner to understand it well enough to use it when labor is intense, when plans shift or when a decision needs to be made.
